VIZIO collects approximate geolocation from IP, Wi-Fi, and cell towers, and partners use IP-address matching to correlate physical location visits on other devices with TV viewing behavior for ad measurement.

"Viewing Data, VIZIO OS product viewing behavior and usage, including audio and video programming, ads, gaming content, devices connected to the VIZIO OS product (e.g., a streaming stick plugged into an HDMI port), and third-party apps, in real-time from built-in technology such as Automated Content Recognition (ACR)... Voice Remote Data, such as voice commands and associated transcripts when you press the microphone button on your remote."

VIZIO uses Automated Content Recognition to monitor what's playing on-screen in real time (including content from other connected devices like streaming sticks), and collects voice command data, going well beyond basic TV functionality.
