State Farm shares customer information broadly with its large family of companies and with external joint marketing partners, giving users limited practical control over how widely their data circulates.

"We retain customer information for legal, auditing, regulatory, and business purposes. ... If you request deletion of your account, State Farm may still retain your information for legal, auditing, regulatory and business purposes. Retention periods vary according to specific legal, auditing, regulatory and business needs."

State Farm provides no specific retention timelines and retains data even after account deletion requests, citing broad categories of business justification with no defined end date.

"If you participate in and grant permissions for Drive Safe & Save® or Steer Clear® or have installed the State Farm mobile application, precise location data is used to accurately record trip information. In addition, the State Farm mobile application utilizes precise location to provide services such as requesting roadside assistance, filing a claim, searching for agents and repair shops."

State Farm collects precise GPS location data through its mobile apps and telematics programs, tracking trip-level driving information which constitutes continuous location monitoring.

State Farm collects extensive device fingerprinting data including installed fonts, hardware type, and device IDs, which can be used to track users across sites and devices. They also explicitly state they do not honor 'Do Not Track' signals.
