Software errors and load times details, and if you have the 'Report System Software Errors Automatically' setting turned on, detailed information about the crash, including screenshots and video captured before the crash."

Sony collects an extraordinarily broad range of device data including hardware identifiers, MAC addresses, detailed software usage patterns (even offline), in-game actions, connected peripherals, and can capture screenshots and video from your device during crashes.

"The information that we collect from devices may include: ... Your current and recent locations. ... we may use your IP address to display content relevant for your area."

Sony collects both current and recent location data from devices, which indicates ongoing location tracking beyond a single point-in-time check.

"We may share information with the following partners: Financial organisations, such as payment details in order to complete your purchase, obtain payment and carry out credit and anti-fraud checks. Game publishers of the content you have purchased from PlayStation Store so that they can deliver that content to you in-game... Other service, application or website providers, for operational purposes, or for additional purposes, with your permission. Security and fraud partners, including Sony Group... Advertising and promotional partners, with whom we are jointly delivering services or features, such as sweepstakes, contests, promotions, or advertising."

Sony shares user data with a wide range of third parties including game publishers, advertising partners, financial organizations, and other service providers, some for purposes beyond core functionality.

"Each time you visit our websites or receive and interact with our marketing communications and advertising on our and third-party websites and services, we may automatically log your activity on web, emails, or advertising and marketing servers we control through cookies (small information files placed on a hard drive), web beacons, tracking pixels, browser configuration details (e.g. browser type, list of installed plugins and list of installed fonts), and embedded scripts (programming code that is temporarily downloaded onto a device)."

Sony tracks users across its own and third-party websites using cookies, tracking pixels, web beacons, browser fingerprinting (plugins, fonts), and embedded scripts, enabling cross-service profiling.

"We may retain information about you as long as it is necessary for us to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. In addition, we may retain your information for an additional period as is permitted or required to, among other things, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. ... Even if we delete your information from active databases, the information may remain on backup or archival media as well as other information systems."

Sony provides no clear deletion timeline, retains data indefinitely for broad purposes, and explicitly states data may persist on backup systems even after deletion from active databases.

"We may revise this Privacy Policy at any time and we will update this Privacy Policy with any revisions. By continuing to access or use the Services after those changes become effective, you acknowledge and accept that PI will be handled in accordance with the revised Privacy Policy."

Sony can change its privacy policy at any time without requiring explicit consent, and continued use of services is treated as acceptance of the new terms.

"You can close your account for PlayStation Network by contacting PlayStation Support. Information collected from older games and apps may not be integrated with account closure. Following your account closure request, please be aware that the information that we collect about you may still be retained for legal, accounting, business continuity (backup), anti-fraud and community reasons."

Account closure requires contacting support rather than a self-service option, data from older games may not be included in the closure process, and Sony retains data after closure for broad reasons with no defined timeline.
