Wyze shares identifiers and browsing activity with a wide range of third parties including advertising networks, data analytics providers, and social networks for commercial advertising purposes.

"When you interact with our Services, we and our online data partners or vendors may use cookies, pixels, ad beacons and similar technologies to associate these activities with information they or others have about you (including your email address). Some of our advertising partners enable us to translate your email address or phone number into an identifier that can't be used to identify you personally. Our advertising partners then use that unique identifier to show ads that are more relevant to you across the web and in mobile apps."

Wyze and its partners link user activity across websites and apps using hashed email/phone identifiers and tracking technologies, enabling cross-context behavioral advertising profiles.

"The Wyze Scale sensors collect heart rate and weight, and information relating to your body composition, including body mass index, body fat, body water, muscle mass, and protein content. If you enable Friendly Faces with your Cam Plus or Cam Protect Service, we collect and record facial images and generate and store measurements to create personal information relating to those images ("Facial Data"), which could be considered biometric information or biometric data in some jurisdictions."

Wyze devices collect highly sensitive data including detailed body composition metrics, heart rate, facial recognition data, and biometric information, going well beyond basic device functionality.

"We derive the approximate location of your computer or mobile device from your IP address. With your consent, we may also collect information about the precise location of your mobile device in connection with your use of our mobile apps. We collect Sensitive Personal Information in California, Colorado, Connecticut... We may collect the following types of Sensitive Personal Information: precise geolocation information."

Wyze collects both IP-based approximate location and precise GPS geolocation from mobile devices, which is classified as sensitive personal information under multiple state laws.

"If you close your account, we will delete your account data within 180 days; otherwise, we will delete your account data after three years of inactivity. We store other personal data for as long as necessary to carry out the purposes for which we originally collected it and for other business purposes explained in this Privacy Policy."

Wyze retains account data for up to 180 days after closure and 3 years after inactivity, with other data retained indefinitely under vague 'business purposes' justification.

"We may change this Privacy Statement from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the statement and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our website homepage or sending you a notification)."

Wyze reserves the right to change the privacy policy at any time with only a date revision as guaranteed notice, with additional notification only provided 'in some cases.'

"If you wish to deactivate your account, please email [email protected], but note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for our legitimate business purposes. If you close your account, we will delete your account data within 180 days."

Account deletion requires emailing support rather than self-service, and Wyze takes up to 180 days to actually delete data after account closure, with carve-outs for retaining data for 'legitimate business purposes.'
