The app collects extensive device information including audio state, battery level, device memory usage, boot time, and advertising identifiers — far beyond what a reading/content app needs for core functionality.

Even after account deletion, STARY retains user data indefinitely under broad justifications like 'legitimate business interests' and 'fraud detection' with no clear timeline for final deletion.

"Where you log-in from multiple devices, we will be able to use your profile information to identify your activity across devices. STARY explicitly links user activity across multiple devices using profile information and collects advertising identifiers (IDFA, Android Advertising ID) that enable cross-service tracking.

"You can request deletion of your data at any time by going to Me > Settings > Terms and Policy > Delete My Account and/or contact us at support-dreame@stary.com. We will evaluate such requests on a case by case basic. We may keep some of your data for as long as reasonably necessary for our legitimate business interests, including fraud detection and prevention."

Deletion requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may be rejected for broad reasons including 'anti-fraud and security purposes,' and some data is retained even after deletion is approved.
