"We may Process the following categories of Personal Data about you: Biometric data: Fingerprints. Unique identifiers: IP address, MAC address, IMSI, IMEI, Device ID, Phone number, social media identifier, Other unique identifier. Personal aspects: People or groups with whom you relate, Temperament, Character, Intelligence, Social roles, Adaptability, Risk tolerance, Content preferences, Habits, Personal interests."

Al Jazeera claims the right to collect fingerprints, hardware-level device identifiers (IMSI, IMEI, MAC address), and deeply personal psychological attributes like temperament, intelligence, and risk tolerance — far beyond what a news service requires.

"Personalised Content: We may analyse your website/apps usage along with other publicly available information and third party information. This information may be used to determine the most appropriate content and/or services that may interest you. The profiling activity may mean that you will see content differently on our site as compared to other users."

Al Jazeera combines website/app usage data with publicly available and third-party information to build user profiles for content personalization, enabling cross-source tracking and behavioral analysis.

"Apps and Sites data: Log of visited pages, activity date and time, visits, connections, mouse activity, browser used, device used, operating system, browser settings, App use statistics, App setting, location data, username, password, login security details. Geographical Content: We may use your geographical origin information. This information will be used to ensure you only see content and services available to that geographic areas."

The policy states location data is collected from apps and sites, and is used for geographic profiling to restrict or customize content based on the user's location.

Data is retained for the duration of the relationship plus the full statute of limitations period plus an additional two months, and even longer if legal claims are brought — potentially many years with no fixed maximum.
