Payment data flows through Chargebee, Stripe, and PayPal, while support interactions are processed by Zendesk and Atlassian — all US-based third parties. Sales prospect data may also be processed by HubSpot.

"Within the limits of applicable law, the Company reserves the right to review and change this Privacy Policy at any time. As long as you are using the Services, you are responsible for regularly reviewing this Privacy Policy. Continued use of the Services after such changes are performed shall constitute your consent to it."

Proton can change the privacy policy at any time with no obligation to notify users; simply continuing to use the service is treated as acceptance of new terms.

"IP logs may be kept temporarily to combat abuse and fraud, and your IP address may be retained permanently if you are engaged in activities that breach our Terms of Service (e.g. spamming, DDoS attacks against our infrastructure, brute force attacks). The period of temporary data retention is determined by our legitimate interests of protecting the service from spam, and also by any applicable Swiss legal requirements we must comply with."

While default retention is temporary, Proton reserves the right to permanently retain IP addresses based on its own determination that a user violated ToS, with no defined deletion timeline for temporary logs.
